This offer is invitation-only. You must register through your IHG account to participate. Pre-registration is currently open through August 31, but you can still register at any time during the active promotion period in September.
Points are awarded in flat increments of 2,000 for every two nights you complete. You do not need to stay the two nights consecutively. Two separate one-night stays within the promotion window will successfully trigger the bonus.
There is a strict cap on this offer. You can earn a maximum of 6,000 bonus points. This means the promotion stops rewarding extra points after your sixth eligible night during the month.
Qualifying Stay Requirements
Not all hotel stays will trigger the bonus points. IHG requires specific booking conditions to be met for a stay to count toward this promotion:
- Minimum Spend: The room rate must exceed $30 USD (or the local currency equivalent) per night.
- Eligible Rates: You must book a standard qualifying rate. Award nights booked entirely with points and Points + Cash reservations do not count.
- Direct Booking: Reservations made through third-party online travel agencies (OTAs) like Expedia or Booking.com are excluded.
- One Room Limit: If you book multiple rooms for the same dates under your name, you will only receive bonus points for one room.

Since this is a targeted offer, your immediate first step is to log into your IHG One Rewards account or check your email to see if you received the invitation. If the offer appears in your account, register immediately before making any new reservations.
When planning your travel, factor in the six-night earning cap. If you have a long trip planned, or multiple trips that exceed six paid nights in September, you will not earn bonus points on the seventh night onward. If you hold status with other hotel chains, it may be more beneficial to move those remaining nights to a different loyalty program to maximize your total rewards.
Always ensure you book directly through the IHG website or mobile app. This guarantees your rate is eligible for the promotion and ensures you receive your standard elite night credits and base points alongside this bonus. If you are traveling with a partner who also received the targeted offer, consider alternating reservations every two nights to maximize the bonus points across both accounts.
Brand Exclusions to Note
The offer applies to most IHG Hotels & Resorts, but a few exceptions exist. Properties that do not participate in the IHG One Rewards program are excluded from earning these points.
Additionally, some Iberostar Beachfront Resorts, specifically those with interests in Cuba, are not included. If you plan to stay at a Six Senses property, you will earn the points, but be aware that standard elite benefits might not be available during your stay. Ruby Hotels are gradually being integrated into the IHG system starting in 2026, so you should verify their individual participation status on the hotel website before booking.
